------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hello everyone!! my lovely friend Aaliyah has asked me to guest post on her blog, for her week-long celebration
of 4 great years of blogging! *insert celebratory clapping*
So before I begin my post, let me introduce myself.
So before I begin my post, let me introduce myself.
My name is Alivia, and I have been blogging for almost a year now. I live in and love the small town of
Somerset, KY.. (well, it isn't very small anymore.) I'm one of those 'unsocialized homeschoolers', and I
love it with all my heart.
I love to read, write (obviously), and play volleyball. If you were to ask any friend of mine to describe me
in a sentence, they most likely would say, "She has a bright and evident love for Jesus." And I love that.
So enough about me, and let's jump straight into the good stuff.
I came across a Bible verse while on Pinterest the other day, and it said:
"Be still, and know that I am GOD." Psalm 46:10 Such a simple verse, but it got me thinking.
We are always so busy in our lives. Maybe sometimes too busy, that we forget to make time to just be with
God. We forget to listen. He's talking. God is always talking and we don't hear him because we are too
focused on what we're doing that it just feels like an interruption. God should never be the interruption.
Everything else should. Anything that isn't God should be second in line.
but that isn't how it happens, is it?
We say, " I'll listen later." " I just don't have time."
I will admit, I have used these before, and many more. I think everyone has at some point or another.
But I have learned to listen when I feel the tugging. When God speaks to me, I hear it. When He tells me to
share His words, I write. Where is this post going? I really don't know. I really have no goal except to reach
people. and maybe my goal for this post is for God to reach out through my words and tell someone,
"Hey! You need to hear me." God might use this post to bring people to Him. To listen to Him. To be still
and know that He is here. "Be still, and know that I am God."
When I read this verse, it gives me immediate comfort and peace. to know that He is GOD, and that I shall
not be moved. That He will protect me all the days of my life. that He has given me Grace and Mercy.
And I need only to be still.
